The Best Online Businesses for Women to Start in 2022
Girl! You’ve been thinking about starting an online business for way too long, and then 2022 happened and now you’re wishing you would have acted on your dream a lot sooner!!. Maybe you know that you want to start an online business but you’re not sure what you want to do or where to start. This article will give you an idea of some of the best online businesses for women in 2022!
1) Life Coaching or Business Coaching
Is this a real thing? Yes, it is and life coaches can make beau-coup bucks and you can help change so many lives! So, what do you need to do to become a life coach? Well you should ask yourself if you truly have a desire to help people, because that is a MUST for any successful life (or business) coach. Then you need to start doing some research; like on the income opportunities and obvs you’re gonna need some training, or at least experience (which if you are reading this article my guess is you do not have either). You can start with a good ole Google search to find accredited Life Coach (or Business Coach) training programs to find one that is right for you.
2) Consulting
What are you an expert in or what have you had years of experience doing? Have you been an HR pro? Well you can be an HR consultant and become a freelancer! Have you been a rockstar Salesperson? Then you can start a Sales Consulting or Sales Training biz! If consulting is something that interests you, I encourage you to start doing your research. Just take action! Don’t just sit there and day-dream. If you’re ready to hit go, create your website, make some business cards, legalize your business and start networking to find clients! Struggling finding clients? Start consulting for free to gain client reviews and then start sharing those reviews.
3) Graphic Design
Don’t worry! You don’t need to go to a fancy university to get design training! There are so many online courses you can take. You can speed up the learning process and save money on expensive tuition! That’s not to say that you should not get training, you should vet the training courses you plan to invest in. Adobe Illustrator has great tutorials and if you can learn AI you will have an incredible set of skills and can handle any branding project! Canva is also a great resource for designing marketing materials.
Once you’ve got your training completed and your skills fine-tuned, create your website and social media profiles and start looking for clients! You can take on free projects to gain real world experience and build your portfolio. Getting clients will be much easier with a portfolio to share, and you will gain momentum. You can do it!
4) Website Design
Same as with Graphic Design. You don’t need to attend a fancy university. You can teach yourself with online tutorials (which quite honestly takes many, many months and will delay your process) or you can invest in an online website design course. 5) Social Media Management
Many businesses want to increase their online presence and engage with their Ideal Clients but they do not have the time or “tech know-how” to do it, so they outsource it! If this is where your passion lies, you can keep up on social media trends and tools, or you can take online courses from social media gurus. Either way, you can do it, Sister! Just do your research, create your website and social media profiles and go for it!
6) Online Courses
Do you have special training or skills that you can share with the world? Well, why not turn your knowledge and skills into an online course that people can buy? You know what that’s called? Passive income! You create something once that you can sell over and over again. Genius! So how do you get started? You need the tech tools (video or audio recordings, the course program platform, and the marketing tools to market your course). Create your website and social media programs and get to creating and marketing! You’ve got this!
7) Legal or Accounting
Are you an attorney or an accountant? Perfect! Take your business online! You can offer services via phone or web meetings, and sell digital products or courses. The possibilities for you are many! Do your research and get started. What do you think you’ll need? A website and social media profiles and boom! Get to marketing your online business!
8) Virtual Administration
Do you have a passion for completing tasks! Do you want to take as many to-do’s off of business owner’s agendas? Well, a Virtual Admin business would be perfect for you! Again, do your research, make your business legal, create a website and your social media profiles. Get networking and marketing and you’re already getting started! Need clients? Offer to work for free to gain testimonials and then clients will be easier to land!
9) Copywriting or Blogging
Do you have a knack with words? Then copywriting or blogging would be great for you! Even with writing experience it is recommended to take some training in writing for marketing purposes. If you’re interested in Copywriting, then how to write website and sales copy would be perfect for you. Want to write articles for businesses? Then training with research writing, sales and SEO would be great for you!
10) Digital Marketing
Does online marketing fascinate you? Whether you need training or you already have experience, there is definitely a market for this and you can do it! Digital Marketing is a pretty broad job description, so it is highly advisable to niche down in Digital Marketing. You don’t want to be all over the place or cast your scope of work net too wide! Believe me, you will thank me later for this advice.
11) Online Health & Fitness Coach
If you have a passion for health & fitness and enjoy helping others improve their health then this business may be for you. There are so many opportunities when it comes to the health & fitness industry. Online Health & Fitness has seen a huge increase over the past year, and particularly with the COVID-19 pandemic. You can offer Zoom classes, custom packages tailored to your individual clients. create digital products to sell such as nutrition plans & workout schedules, write an e-book, etc. The first step is becoming certified. It is recommended to become certified in Health & Fitness through an accredited institution. You can do your research online to find the best program for you. Some companies do not require you to become certified if you are interested in becoming an affiliate and share their products. However, if you are wanting to running your own business with 1:1 coaching or class sessions, leading with your own programs you need to become certified and purchase liability insurance. Again, do your research. You’ve got this!
12) Recruiting, Career Coaching, or Resume Writer
Do you have a knack for recruiting (such as experience in HR) and or in business and you are great at helping others create resumes, apply for jobs, and land the job? You can become a career coach, recruiter, resume writer, etc. Just like anything else, do you research. LinkedIn in a great space for Career Planners , Recruiters, and Resume Writers. You can offer your services in packages such as: Job Search, Interview Prep, and even Promotion Prep!
13) Life Skills for Young Adults (or any other very specific niche)
This is a very specific niche (search “how to find your business niche”). However, this is one service that I have a heard a bit about, as in the market really needs it! Think of all the things schools do not prepare young adults for. This is a spin-off of Life Coaching. If you have a passion for teach young adults how to thrive in life through career, financial planning, how to file taxes, resources on how to deal with overwhelm or emotional issues, etc. This could be a great niche for you. Or if you have any other specific passion I suggest you look into how you can earn an income from it to find out if it is right for you.
No matter what online business you are interested in, remember these things:
1) Do your research
2) Make sure you become certified, if your business requires it
3) Legalize your business, file your business with your state’s corporate commissioner’s office (in the US)
4) Speak to a business account & attorney
5) Find a mentor (you can do a Google search, look on Facebook or Instagram). Facebook has a mentorship feature.
6) Don’t study and research forever. Once you know what you want to do, go for it! Believe in yourself. Mindset is everything! And when you can, hire a business coach to help you create a system and action plan!
7) Market & Network your business. No one will find if you if they don’t know about you!
Remember! You CAN do this! There will be plenty of people who tell you that you cannot. That is because they let fear hold them back from extraordinary and judge others who take action. Find like-minded entrepreneurs and speak to them for support. Find a mentor too! It will help you more than you could know!
